What you are about to find here is a dedication to bringing to you the best gongs for your needs. Be you a musician, a yoga teacher, or sound healer, this is more than rare and you certainly wont find this with any of the "big box" stores. Additonally, I've been authorized to match or beat any offer you'll see online on any Paiste product.

Additionally, if you are needing a specific tuning we can, to some extent, "hand pick" your gong depending on what we have in stock. This is an option that even Paiste Central in Brea, CA doesn't offer, but once did. If you're looking for a Symphonic, know that it is exceptionally consistent in its overall sound, no matter what size Symphonic you choose. Each gong is individual, and not alike another gong, even of the same Series and fundamental note. As each gong is hand made so there will always be subtle differences in every gong made, even if by the same person. Unless cast and machine lathed no two gongs will truly possess identical character and song. If you like, and are going to be in the Chicago area, call me first and I can arrange for you to pick out your own gong at our warehouse.

A note about the Symphonic Planet Gongs: Paiste spends a great deal more time fine tuning them, and this is a process which makes for an even more expansive high range, well-balanced tone and centered bass note quality, and overall, better sound, *musically* speaking. Planet Gongs have a more focused sound with a predominant pitch. Also, the Planet Gongs also have the cool Greek symbols in the middle, so no PAISTE Logo screaming at you (although the bigger the gong, the smaller the logo, relatively speaking). Special logos can be accommodated but there is a wait.

And now a word about the Symphonic Gongs. As music is organized sound, and much of the unique power of the gong is its ability to distract our pattern-seeking mind, many of you yogis and yoga teachers may actually prefer the Symphonic gong. The Symphonic Gongs embody the fifth element: the ethers. And it's the Ether element that gives rise to the other four elements.

Paiste has taken traditional gong designs of the East and made a number of important changes with regard to design, construction and tuning. These gongs have been developed over the last 35 years in Europe by the Paiste company in consultation with scientists, musicians and therapeutic practitioners. The Gongs are made of a bronze. nickel and silver alloy which has been highly condensed through a process of heating and rolling under pressure. Paiste Symphonic Gongs have a slightly raised surface with a harmonic and universal sound structure. The fundamental note of the gong is balanced with the instrument's complex overtones. A good starting point for a gong collection, the Symphonic contains even proportions of various gong characteristics, which can be brought forth using different mallets and striking points.
